I do not believe that the North Carolina Benson family are descendants of John Benson the immigrant of the North East US. I am a descendant of John Benson who died Abt. Mar 1745 New Hanover County, North Carolina, USA. I had my Y-DNA tested and do not match the Benson's of the Northeast.
